Cadillac Escalade vs. GMC Yukon Denali: On Overview
The GMC Yukon is in its fifth generation and has the same basic platform as the Chevy Taho, Chevy Silverado 1500, and Cadillac Escalade. While the Yukon comes in several different trims, the Denali is considered the luxury version of this SUV. It comes standard with a 6.2-liter V8 engine and a starting price of $73,000. There is a higher trim level of the Yukon, known as the Denali Ultimate, that starts at $90,800.
The Cadillac Escalade has been on the road just as long as the Yukon but has a larger fan base. The Escalade earned major points in the mid-2000s when celebrities would show off their Escalade entourage. Driving (or even riding in) an Escalade is a status symbol. The Escalade starts at around $80,000 and comes with a standard 6.2-liter V8 engine.
Performance Specs

While these two luxury SUVs have the same platforms and engines, there are some significant differences. The Escalade allows you to opt for different engines. For example, the top-level V trim (a performance trim) comes with a massive 6.2-liter V8 engine that makes 682 horsepower and 653 lb-ft of torque.
While the Escalade may have a bigger engine option, the Yukon has a better tow rating. The Escalade can handle up to 7,500 pounds at its max, while the Yukon can tow up to 7,900 pounds. The question is whether you want to drive fast (Escalade) or tow more (Yukon).
